Gurney's LOVE LETTERS, a special pre-season fundraiser for Charleston Stage, the Sizzling Summer Soiree will inaugurate Charleston Stage's 33rd season and return to the newly renovated Historic Dock Street Theatre. Carrie Preston, who stars as Arlene Fowler on HBO's # 1 hit series "TRUE BLOOD", and her husband Michael Emerson, who won the "Best Supporting Actor" Emmy last year for his role as the villain Ben on the ABC hit series "LOST", will be the headliners at Charleston Stage's Sizzling Summer Soiree on July 31st at the Historic Dock Street Theatre. Preston and Emerson will be reading A. R. Gurney's acclaimed LOVE LETTERS, a two person play that Time Magazine called "Gurney's finest work, one of the best plays of the 80's." The Wall Street Journal called it "Exhilarating, funny, moving", and USA Today raved that it was "Delightful, entertaining." Charleston Stage's Sizzling Summer Soiree will begin at 6:30 with cocktails in the restored Dock Street Theatre Grand Foyer and Upstairs Drawing Room.
